ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corp. that develops enterprise IT management software, has updated its cloud cost management platform CloudSpend to make it easier for service providers and large organizations to monitor and manage cloud spending.

The update adds a multi-portal setup that allows companies to handle cloud costs for customers, teams, or business units in one system. Each customer or team gets its own secure portal, while administrators can still oversee everything from a central dashboard. This is meant to simplify cloud cost tracking as more businesses rely on cloud services for daily operations.

As companies move more of their systems to the cloud, managing expenses has become harder. Service providers often deal with many clients at the same time, while large companies manage multiple departments or projects. In both cases, they need to see spending clearly without mixing up data or breaking security rules.

“Service providers have long struggled to strike the right balance between visibility and isolation,” said Srinivasa Raghavan, director of product management at ManageEngine. “Each client needs full transparency into their cloud spending, while MSPs and CSPs must uphold strict separation, governance, and compliance. Similarly, large multi-tenant enterprises face the same challenge of managing multiple business units or projects securely under one environment,” he said.

ManageEngine said the update is part of its effort to make cloud cost management more practical and easier to understand, especially for organizations managing many cloud accounts or users at the same time.

With the new setup, each portal has its own budget limits, alerts, and spending rules. This allows customers or teams to track their own usage, while central IT or finance teams can set policies and monitor overall costs. The aim is to reduce confusion and lower the risk of errors or data exposure.

CloudSpend also points out possible ways to save money. It automatically checks cloud resources and flags those that are not being fully used. The system then suggests changes, such as resizing or removing resources, to help cut unnecessary spending.

For service providers, the platform supports automated billing and reporting, which can reduce manual work. White-labeling options allow providers to use their own branding on reports and dashboards when sharing cost information with clients.

The update also includes tools that help predict future cloud expenses and spot unusual spending patterns early. By using past data, CloudSpend can estimate upcoming costs and alert users when spending suddenly increases.
