The Palawan Group of Companies teamed up with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Mimaropa Region to enhance digital financial services for marginalized and vulnerable sectors.
This partnership between Palawan Group and DOLE aims to simplify the disbursement of stipends and salaries to beneficiaries of DOLE programs such as Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (Tupad), the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), and the Government Internship Program (GIP).
“With Palawan Pawnshop and Palawan Express Pera Padala as our trusted partner, we experience seamless and hassle-free transactions, ensuring that funds reach their intended recipients promptly,” said Rosemarie Hupanda, chief of the Internal Management and Services Division at DOLE Mimaropa.
Since the collaboration began in 2019, over 37,000 beneficiaries, including marginalized workers, financially challenged students, out-of-school youth, and other underserved communities, have benefited. The partnership allows beneficiaries to access their funds conveniently through Palawan Pawnshop and Palawan Express Pera Padala branches across Mimaropa and nationwide via Palawan’s e-wallet app, PalawanPay. This development eliminates the long waits previously required to claim funds.

“Your support has been invaluable in the successful implementation of our programs aimed at uplifting disadvantaged workers and empowering the youth through employment opportunities,” said Naomi Lyn Abellana, regional director of DOLE Mimaropa.
She emphasized the impact on beneficiaries who lacked access to traditional banking services. She expressed her appreciation for Palawan’s support, highlighting their reliable and affordable services.
The Palawan Group encourages users to download the PalawanPay app to experience its convenience for various transactions, including bill payments, fund transfers, mobile load purchases, and pawn renewals. PalawanPay has been downloaded more than 18 million times on the Google Play Store, showcasing its widespread acceptance and utility.
