Okta, an IT service management company, and Palo Alto Networks, a cybersecurity solutions provider, launched new integrations to help organizations strengthen their defenses against identity-based attacks.

The partnership combines the Okta and Palo Alto Networks’ AI-driven tools to automate threat response, secure application access on any device and minimize security gaps.

“AI is supercharging attacks on user credentials, requiring a ‘fight AI with AI’ approach that brings identity directly into an organization’s security infrastructure for a real-time and unified response,” said Stephen Lee, VP of Technology Partnerships at Okta.

The first integration connects Okta Workforce Identity with Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access Browser to enforce access to single sign-on applications exclusively through the secure browser. The second links Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI to Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex SecOps platform, providing organizations a unified view of identity-related risks across their systems. This also extends to Cortex XSIAM and Cortex XDR for automated, coordinated threat responses.

“Our deep integrations with Okta ensure that our solutions are engineered to work together, making it easier for our customers to achieve higher levels of security and user experience,” said Pamela Cyr, VP of Technical Partnerships at Palo Alto Networks.

The companies said nearly 2,000 joint customers now benefit from more interoperable, context-aware tools to secure web activity and respond to threats. For example, employees can securely access corporate web applications and data from managed or unmanaged devices through the Prisma Access Browser.

The integration with Cortex also allows dynamic enforcement of extra authentication and triggers automated responses such as revoking access, ending active sessions and quarantining endpoints when threats are detected.
