PLDT sets up Data Privacy and Information Security Committee

Philippine telecommunications company PLDT approved the creation of a Data Privacy and Information Security Charter: the first among publicly listed companies in the region.

To be headed by Manny V. Pangilinan, chair and CEO, PLDT, the DPIS (Data Privacy and Information Security) committee of four board members to ensure guidance and oversight over how PLDT, Inc. addresses corporate accountability for privacy and information security.

Other members include PLDT directors Ray Espinosa, Junichi Igarashi, and Bernido Liu as an independent member while Al Panlilio, president, Smart will be the adviser.

PLDT has previously been recognized for its Corporate Governance initiatives.
