PLDT and its wireless subsidiary, Smart, have enlisted Computer Studies and Engineering (CSE) students from Jose Rizal University (JRU) to champion cybersecurity. In response to the increasing digitalization embraced by students, there is a growing need to equip them with cyber-smart skills to navigate the online landscape safely.

“#CyberSmart is one of PLDT and Smart’s key efforts to raise awareness on cybersecurity,” said Stephanie Orlino, AVP and group head of Stakeholder Management at PLDT and Smart. “The program empowers individuals and communities to protect themselves from cyber threats by staying informed, being vigilant, and adopting safe online practices,”

Through the #CyberSmart program, students from JRU were educated on safely navigating the digital space, securing personal information, preserving privacy, and recognizing phishing tactics.
