Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi A5 in the Philippines, adding a new option for users looking for affordable smartphones with practical features. The device comes in four colors—Midnight Black, Sandy Gold, Lake Green, and Ocean Blue—and is available in two versions: 3GB RAM with 64GB storage for ₱3,599, and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage for ₱4,099.
The Redmi A5 features a slim 8.26mm body with a flat frame design. The matte finish on the Midnight Black and Sandy Gold versions helps resist smudges, while the Lake Green and Ocean Blue variants draw inspiration from nature.
It sports a 6.88-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, offering a more fluid experience when browsing or watching videos. The display includes eye protection features like TÜV Rheinland certification and DC dimming to reduce strain during extended use. Wet touch support also allows the screen to remain responsive even with damp fingers.
The smartphone comes with a 32MP dual rear camera and an 8MP front camera. A larger sensor improves low-light shots, while the display helps provide lighting for selfies in darker settings.
Inside, the Redmi A5 runs on the UNISOC T7250 processor, with support for memory expansion up to 8GB of RAM. It includes a 5,200mAh battery that can deliver over 20 hours of video playback or up to 9 hours of gaming on one charge.
Additional features include a side fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio.
