Technology companies Samsung and Google showcased the Galaxy S25 series’ AI capabilities at the Galaxy AI Future Lab event at the BGC Amphitheater. The fireside chat featured Ben Ting-Martin, lead for Android of Google Asia Pacific, and Jun Guevara, head of Product Marketing for Mobile Experience at Samsung Philippines. Gian Viterbo, founder of Gadget Pilipinas, moderated the discussion, which explored how Galaxy AI and Google’s Gemini enhance productivity.

The Galaxy S25 series uses AI to adapt to user needs. Unlike basic voice assistants, Galaxy AI learns from patterns and behavior to anticipate tasks. Gemini Live, integrated into the device, processes voice and visual inputs in real-time. A user can say, “Find a café nearby and message my wife the location,” and the phone will handle both tasks instantly.

Guevara introduced Now Brief, an AI-driven feature that helps users plan their day by summarizing sleep data, weather, and schedules.

“It helps busy professionals because it helps you with scheduling; you have less time planning and more time executing,” he said.

“This collaboration is going to make you more productive and more efficient in what you do. It’s not just about using a phone, it’s about having a phone that is actually smart and can actually work for you,” said Ting-Martin.

Other AI features include Live Translate, which supports over 100 languages, and AI Select, which provides contextual suggestions. Google’s upgraded Circle to Search now identifies numbers, URLs, and music.

“Both Samsung and Google use end-to-end encryption and follow strict privacy policies,” Ting-Martin noted. Guevara added that Samsung ensures user data stays private by processing sensitive information on the device.
