Consumer electronics company Samsung Electronics Philippines has introduced the Samsung for Education Program, bringing together classroom devices, teacher training, and school recognition to help Philippine schools strengthen digital learning.

The program supports the country’s ongoing efforts to expand information and communications technology (ICT) in education by helping schools not only adopt digital tools but also use them effectively in everyday teaching.

The initiative combines education-ready Galaxy Tab devices, professional development for teachers, and a structured recognition program for schools as they progress in digital learning.

“At Samsung, we believe that technology should empower people,” said Carl Nordenberg, vice president and regional head of Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and Oceania. “In education, this means creating an ecosystem where teachers feel supported, schools are digitally ready, and students are engaged to learn with confidence. Our vision is to help schools in our region prepare for the future, ensuring every learner feels empowered and every teacher feels supported,”

The program comes as more schools across the Philippines adopt digital tools through government-led ICT initiatives. Samsung said schools also need training, guidance, and long-term support to maximize the value of these technologies in the classroom.

The program uses Galaxy Tab devices equipped with the S Pen, Samsung Notes, and Galaxy AI (artificial intelligence) features to help teachers create lessons and support student learning. Samsung Knox, the company’s built-in security platform, is included to help protect school data, manage devices, and support secure online assessments.

Samsung said technology alone is not enough to improve education. Through the Samsung Learning Hub, teachers can access training modules that cover everything from basic digital skills to more advanced classroom strategies. Educators can also earn certificates as they complete courses and access learning materials developed with education partners.

The company also provides professional development support for teachers and school leaders to improve digital skills, increase productivity, and create more engaging classroom content.

To encourage long-term progress, Samsung has established two recognition levels for participating schools.

Schools that are beginning to integrate technology into daily teaching can qualify as Samsung Schools. Institutions that demonstrate deeper use of technology, certified educators, measurable outcomes, and knowledge-sharing practices can earn recognition as Samsung Digital Lighthouse Schools.
