These innovations align with the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) E-Commerce Philippines 2024-2028 Roadmap, which aims to build trust between online buyers and sellers and foster a seamless and exciting commerce environment.
A study conducted by Shopee and Kantar highlighted that Gen Z shoppers prioritize quality assurance and thorough research before making purchases. Responding to these insights, Shopee launched several new features aimed at enhancing the user experience.
One of the key features is COD Unbox: Return on the Spot. This allows Cash-On-Delivery (COD) customers to inspect their parcels upon delivery and return them immediately if there are any issues, such as damages or incorrect items. This feature aims to increase trust and satisfaction among shoppers.
Shopee’s new Return and Refund policy simplifies the return process, allowing buyers to return items without contacting the seller. The platform also introduced a “Change of Mind” option, enabling customers to return products that do not meet their expectations regarding fit or style.
To ensure timely deliveries, Shopee has implemented an On-Time Delivery program, which offers users a free discount voucher if their orders arrive late. This initiative underscores Shopee’s commitment to reliability and customer satisfaction.
Shopee’s innovations reflect the company’s dedication to understanding and meeting the needs of Gen Z shoppers.
