Shopee strengthens delivery capabilities in Visayas and Mindanao

E-commerce platform Shopee said its Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) program is helping speed up deliveries and improve access to online shopping across the country, particularly in Visayas and Mindanao.

Through FBS, sellers can store their inventory in Shopee-supported facilities, while packing and shipping are handled by third-party logistics partners through the platform. The setup reduces the complexity of order fulfillment, allowing sellers to focus on improving products, adjusting prices, and maintaining customer service.

“Making e-commerce work for the whole country means continuing to build capabilities that serve both buyers and sellers wherever they live,” Vincent Lee, head of Shopee Philippines, said. “Our focus in Visayas and Mindanao builds on years of work to make buying and selling online easier and more reliable, while improving access for communities outside major urban centers.”

Shopee said the program also helps improve access for buyers in Visayas and Mindanao by making products more consistently available and reducing reliance on long cross-island shipping routes. The company said average delivery times for many orders in the regions have dropped from about seven days to around three to four days, helping both buyers and sellers manage delivery timelines and costs.

Shopee said its efforts in Visayas and Mindanao also support Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Since the COVID-19 pandemic, sellers have spent more than 110,000 hours attending Shopee University training courses, where entrepreneurs learn skills in pricing, marketing, customer service, and daily business operations.

The company expects its Visayas and Mindanao operations to help generate about 1,500 jobs by 2026. These roles will support platform operations and programs that help sellers participate and grow within the e-commerce ecosystem.

Shopee said it plans to continue building services and tools to expand access to online commerce, support local businesses, and improve participation in the digital economy across different parts of the Philippines.
