As fifth-generation (5G) technology becomes the norm, PLDT’s wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) its adoption hoping to enable more customers to maximize their ever-growing digital lifestyles in 2022. In a media release, Smart said it is also scaling its GigaLife App, which has over 10 million users in just a year after its launch.
Among these devices is the recently launched plug-and-play Smart Bro Home WiFi 5G, the country’s first-ever 5G-powered Prepaid Home WiFi. Seen to bring wireless fiber-like speeds to more Filipino homes, it allows WiFi-enabled devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops to take advantage of next-level 5G speeds. This comes after the launch of the country’s first-ever 5G-powered Smart Bro Pocket Wifi devices to enable the ever-growing data speed requirements of people on the go.
Smart currently serves the most number of mobile data users in the country at 40 million.
Smart is also set to expand the GigaLife App to serve more customers in 2022, starting with PLDT Home Fiber subscribers, in addition to being the one-stop-app and engagement platform for Smart Prepaid, Signature, Infinity, Bro, TNT, and PLDT and Smart Bro Home WiFi customers.
At present, the GigaLife App is enhancing customers’ digital lifestyle with digital payments via GigaPay with PayMaya, which allows users to link their PayMaya wallet for in-app transactions such as buying load, subscribing to promos, and paying bills; and innovative services that provide exclusive experiences on the Smart network such as the GigaPlay App, which allows Smart subscribers to watch exclusive content such as the NBA, the PBA, K-Pop concerts, its first pay-per-view film, “Love is Color Blind”, and exclusive access to the most loved Korean dramas and variety shows via the 24/7 stream of the TVN Premium Channel.
With its integrated rewards platform GigaPoints, subscribers can convert points earned into data offers, products and devices. Through the GigaLife App, Smart Prepaid, Smart Postpaid, Smart Bro, Prepaid WiFi and TNT subscribers can also register to join GigaMania, which runs until Feb. 6, 2022.
