Smart Communications Inc. is offering free calls, roaming data, and a crisis hotline for Filipinos in Iran and Israel as tensions continue in the Middle East.

From June 23 to 25, Smart subscribers in the Philippines can make free International Direct Dial (IDD) calls to landline and mobile numbers in Iran and Israel. The calls will be limited to five minutes per call, in line with the fair use policy.

This move is part of the “Smart Cares” program, which aims to keep Filipinos connected during emergencies. Over 31,800 Filipinos currently live and work in Iran and Israel.

“In times of uncertainty, the most important thing we can offer is presence, and communication is how we show up for each other,” said Anastacio Martirez, COO of Smart. This is our way of standing with Filipino families, wherever they are.”

Smart also announced that its subscribers currently in Israel will receive free 1GB GigaRoam Global data, helping them stay connected without extra charges.

To support those affected, the company has activated the Smart Care Crisis Hotline: +63288457799. The toll-free line can assist users with connectivity problems, help those who cannot reach family in the Philippines, and provide verified updates or safety advisories. It also serves as an alternative way to reach the Philippine Embassy or Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) when other lines are unavailable.

Smart said it continues to work with international partners to keep services stable. Additional updates will be posted on its official channels.
