Mobile services provider Smart Communications Inc. and its value brand TNT have alerted their customers about a new scam involving fraudulent SIM registration portals. These scams are often delivered through fake text messages that direct subscribers to illegitimate websites imitating Smart’s official SIM registration portal.

In a public advisory, Smart and TNT explained that these messages are phishing attempts to steal personal information. The companies emphasized, “Smart did not send these messages. They are aimed at obtaining your private details.”

To clear any confusion, Smart clarified that users who have already registered their SIM cards with Smart or TNT do not need to register again. Any messages instructing users to do so should be ignored.

The official SIM registration portal for Smart users is https://simreg.smart.com.ph. The public is encouraged to stay vigilant and report phishing incidents and similar scams through Smart’s HuliScam portal at http://www.smart.com.ph/huliscam.

This HuliScam platform is part of a broader initiative by the PLDT Group, which recently upgraded its network firewall to block malicious messages. This added security measure helps ensure a safer experience for all customers.
