TikTok has rolled out a new in-app Time and Well-being Page that brings together tools to help users manage screen time and develop healthier digital habits, with a focus on teens and young people.
The new page is available through the Account Settings section of the short-form mobile video app. It groups several features in one place, including mindfulness activities, screen time guidance, and videos from creators and experts. The company said the goal is to help users pause, reflect, and make more intentional choices about how they use the app.
“The Time and Well-being Page was created to give our community tools to engage mindfully with the app and develop digital habits that truly serve them,” said Peachy Paderna, manager of Public Policy the Philippines at TikTok. “These tools reflect our proactive approach to online safety, built on ongoing collaboration with experts, to ensure that every user is able to enjoy a safe and personalized experience on the platform.”
The company said the page is guided by academic research and is designed to support a healthy relationship with technology rather than limit usage through strict controls. It said time spent online should still allow room for creativity, learning, and connection, especially for younger users.
Among the tools included is an affirmation journal that allows users set daily intentions using more than 120 cards that can be downloaded or shared. A sound generator offers calming audio such as rainfall, ocean waves, and white noise. The page also includes breathing exercises that guide users through simple steps to help them relax and focus.
“The digital space is already part of everyday life, especially for young people. That’s why having tools that encourage mindful breaks is so crucial,” said Riyan Portuguez, psychologist, digital wellness advocate and creator. “Instead of restricting social media usage, a more sustainable approach is helping people manage their digital lives intentionally. Tools like Time and Well-being features help users pause, reflect, and develop healthy digital habits.”
The page also features Well-being Missions, which are short tasks designed to encourage more thoughtful use of technology. Users who complete missions earn badges that mark progress and reinforce habits such as taking breaks or reviewing screen time.
The company introduced four new missions alongside the launch. The Sleep Hours Mission encourages users to step away from the app at night and meditate during set sleep hours, with progress shown through a virtual tree grown over eight weeks. The Daily Screen Time Mission asks users to set and follow a daily limit, while the Weekly Screen Time Mission focuses on reviewing usage over time. Another mission rewards users who invite friends to try the well-being features.
The app also said the missions were shaped by research, input from digital wellness experts, and feedback from its Youth Council. The company said the new page and missions are meant to offer simple and practical ways for users to build healthier digital routines.
