TikTok Shop and L’Oréal have announced a partnership to advance the Digital Beauty Academy in the Philippines. Now in its second year, the initiative aims to empower aspiring beauty entrepreneurs through a combination of beauty education and social commerce training. 

The program, initially launched in Quezon City, has now expanded to Makati City, broadening its reach to more participants.

“L’Oréal together with TikTok Shop Philippines recognizes the transformative power of beauty in driving positive societal transformations,” said Yannick Raynaud, managing director of L’Oréal Philippines.

The Digital Beauty Academy provides participants with comprehensive training in beauty, grooming, and personal care, while also teaching effective strategies for leveraging TikTok and TikTok Shop to grow their businesses. The program specifically targets women from diverse backgrounds, aiming to enhance their socio-economic status through entrepreneurial opportunities in the beauty industry.

Social commerce strategies

“The growth of the L’Oréal Digital Beauty Academy marks a significant step toward a more inclusive future,” Raynaud said. “By the end of the year, over 1,800 Makati residents will gain access to fundamental beauty and digital commerce tools, paving the way for enhanced economic opportunities.”

Running from August to December, the academy will offer six sessions focused on content creation, social commerce strategies, and the effective use of TikTok Shop for marketing and sales. The curriculum includes an introduction to TikTok, livestreaming essentials, and best practices in content creation. Participants will also have the chance to interact with TikTok creators and industry experts, gaining valuable insights to boost their entrepreneurial efforts.

“Through this program, we aim to equip participants with the skills and tools they need to thrive in the digital economy, while also supporting local communities and fostering inclusive growth,” said said Paolo David, country head for Brand Growth and Partnerships at TikTok.
