Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has awarded 303 prizes totaling ₱5.1 million to participants in its Philippine design voting contest, “PiliPinas: Your Vote, Your Design for the Future Filipino Drive.”
The contest drew over 20,000 participants, showing strong local interest in VinFast models and growing awareness of electric vehicles in the Philippines.
“With our customer-centric philosophy, VinFast wants Filipinos to become true co-creators of the electric vehicles that will soon be seen on Philippine streets,” said Antonio Zara, CEO of VinFast Southeast Asia. “Each and every selection and idea submitted inspires us to develop vehicles that reflect the Filipino spirit: resilient, steadfast and always striving for a better future.”
During a live awards ceremony, VinFast presented three grand prizes of ₱150,000 each to participants who correctly predicted the most popular design and the total number of votes. Twenty prizes worth ₱40,000-₱80,000 were given for the closest predictions for models VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 results. Another 130 participants received ₱15,000 each for submitting original design concepts, while 150 lucky draw prizes of ₱10,000 each were awarded to voters.
The contest ran from Oct. 24 to Nov. 7. VinFast showcased 50 official design options, with 10 interior and exterior concepts for each model line developed by its global creative team. Detailed visuals were published online, and participants could vote both online and through 30 physical ballot boxes nationwide.
VinFast is expanding its presence in the Philippines with new showrooms, test drive events, and partnerships with financial and service providers. The company aims to offer electric vehicles suited to urban residents and families, incorporating local preferences and lifestyle needs.
