Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has launched the VF 6 in the Philippines, aiming to offer Filipino families a compact and practical option for electric mobility.

The VF 6, available in Eco and Plus variants, is designed to suit the country’s mix of urban and countryside driving needs. With fuel costs rising and government incentives supporting electric vehicle adoption, VinFast is positioning the VF 6 as a family-friendly entry point for households considering the shift to EVs.

The VF 6 is built on a 2,730-millimeter wheelbase, giving it interior space comparable to B-segment gasoline vehicles. It can seat five passengers comfortably, with flexible storage options and foldable rear seats that extend its 423-liter cargo space. This capacity can fit around ten carry-on suitcases, making it suitable for groceries, strollers, or sports gear.

Range is another key feature for drivers who often travel outside Metro Manila. The VF 6 Eco offers up to 480 kilometers on a single charge, while the VF 6 Plus can reach 460 kilometers, based on the New European Driving Cycle standard. This allows most trips to nearby provinces to be completed without frequent charging stops. The vehicle also comes with a tight turning radius and suspension tuned for both city roads and longer drives.

For safety, the VF 6 Plus includes eight airbags and 20 driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera. A notable feature is Auto Lane Changing Assist, which supports safer lane shifts in traffic.

Technology is integrated into the VF 6 through an AI-powered infotainment system with voice command, smartphone connectivity, and over-the-air updates. This system is intended to simplify everyday use for households balancing work, school, and leisure activities.

VinFast is also offering ownership benefits for early adopters. From now until May 1, 2027, VF 6 owners can access free charging at V-GREEN stations nationwide. The vehicle comes with a seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, while the battery is covered for ten years or 200,000 kilometers.

By combining compact design, long range, and smart features, VinFast aims to make the VF 6 a practical choice for Filipino families considering electric vehicles.
