IT solutions provider Yondu observed Cybersecurity Awareness Month last October by launching a wide-ranging campaign focused on equipping organizations to combat evolving cyber threats.

Through training programs, technical demonstrations, and expert-led discussions, Yondu’s campaign aimed to prepare professionals in banking, government, and enterprise sectors for modern cybersecurity challenges.

“Modern businesses need stronger cybersecurity than ever,” Dennis Sanchez, CISO at Yondu, said in a media release. “As organizations handle growing volumes of sensitive information, our understanding of the local threat landscape will help Filipino companies protect themselves against emerging threats.”

Yondu’s internal efforts included tailored training sessions for both technical and non-technical employees. Non-tech staff learned how to identify and respond to phishing and impersonation attempts, while technical teams participated in workshops on secure coding and threat intelligence.

Partnerships with private and public organizations

Externally, Yondu collaborated with key organizations. At BPI’s Cybersecurity Awareness Event, Sanchez shared strategies for combating phishing and malware. A Security Operations Center (SOC) immersion with Globe Business featured demonstrations of hacking tools like HackRF and Wifi Pineapple, offering hands-on insights into cyber risks. Yondu also joined MoneyMe Financial to highlight AI’s role in cybersecurity, focusing on automated threat detection.

In the public sector, Sanchez participated in discussions with local government units on how SOCs can safeguard sensitive data. On digital platforms, Yondu released informative social media content and podcast episodes featuring cybersecurity experts discussing open-source intelligence and collaborative threat intelligence.
