Metrobank has removed transfer fees for InstaPay and PESONet transactions made through the Metrobank App, allowing customers to send money without paying additional charges.
The move reduces the cost of digital banking for individuals who regularly transfer money for bills, family support, online purchases, and other everyday transactions. As more Filipinos rely on cashless payments, eliminating transfer fees could encourage greater use of digital banking services.
Customers using InstaPay through the Metrobank App can send up to ₱50,000 per transaction, with a daily limit of ₱100,000. Those needing to transfer larger amounts can use PESONet, which allows transfers of up to ₱200,000 per day.
InstaPay is commonly used for real-time fund transfers between banks and e-wallets, making it suitable for urgent payments. PESONet, meanwhile, is designed for higher-value transfers that are processed in batches during banking hours.
The fee waiver applies to transfers made through the Metrobank App, giving customers access to both payment networks without paying the transaction fees that are often charged by banks.
The announcement comes as Philippine banks continue expanding digital banking services to meet growing demand for faster and more affordable online transactions. Removing transfer fees is expected to benefit consumers who frequently move money between accounts or send funds to other banks.
