ABB, a global electrification and automation solutions provider, has equipped VITRO Santa Rosa data center with a complete electrification system, enabling the country’s first (artificial intelligence) AI-ready hyperscale facility. The 50MW site in Laguna, south of Metro Manila, is designed for high reliability, efficiency, and sustainability as demand for digital services grows.
“Delivering the world’s most advanced data centers takes global expertise and strong local partnerships,” said Christine Macadamia Penequito, director of Marketing & Sales, Electrification Smart Buildings & Smart Power, ABB Philippines. “High performance starts with reliability — smart solutions that ensure critical power is always available. Partnering with DCPI to support the Philippines’ first AI-ready hyperscale data center, we are powering the future of digital infrastructure.”
ABB and Distribution & Control Products Inc. (DCPI) provided medium- and low-voltage electrification systems, including ZX2 and SafePlus gas-insulated switchgear, Tmax XT and Emax 2 circuit breakers, protection devices, and M4M analyzers. The system supports continuous uptime and energy efficiency while allowing the data center to scale as AI workloads expand.
“VITRO Santa Rosa marks a significant leap in the country’s digital transformation and AI adoption,” said Victor Genuino, president and CEO, VITRO Santa Rosa. “Through our partnerships with ABB and DCPI, we’re able to scale faster and deliver world-class infrastructure built for businesses in the age of AI.”
The facility is built to meet TIA Rated-3 and Rated-4 standards, providing high availability for mission-critical workloads. It integrates at least three independent fiber routes for network resilience and neutrality, and incorporates sustainability measures in its supply chain, operations, and design in line with LEED certification.
“Working closely with ABB early in the planning stage, we were able to tailor an advanced, compliant solution, fully aligned with VITRO’s requirements,” said Vincent Tiamsic, president of DCPI. “By combining with our deep local technical expertise, we’ve helped deliver a landmark facility that strengthens the Philippines’ role in Southeast Asia’s fast-growing data center sector and supports the country’s own digital development.”
