Backbase appoints Thomas Fuss as CTO to build Banking-as-a-Service strategy

Digital banking platform provider Backbase announced the appointment of Thomas Fuss as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) starting January 2020.

Backed by his experience leading engineering and delivery teams, Fuss was tapped to build Backbase’s overall technology strategy.

Fuss will focus on leveraging open standards and native cloud technologies to accelerate the development of next-generation omnichannel digital banking solutions.

“During my years at Backbase, the industry has evolved rapidly. However, our mission remains the same which is to enable financial institutions to create a superior customer experience,” Fuss said on his appointment.

Prior to joining Backbase, Thomas honed his skills and experience in software engineering and digital transformation at ING Bank, and by co-founding Payconiq, the payment platform. Formerly Backbase’s VP of Technology, Thomas has been the driving force behind numerous digital transformation programs and strategic product development initiatives inside Backbase.
