Globe has joined a global group of telecom companies committed to the GSMA’s Responsible AI (RAI) Maturity Roadmap. This roadmap is designed to guide companies in using artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly, ensuring that AI technologies are developed and applied ethically.
By adopting the GSMA roadmap, the company aims to align its AI initiatives with global standards that prioritize transparency, fairness, and accountability.
“We see AI as a powerful tool that can transform our operations and improve customer service while ensuring ethical practices,” Anton Bonifacio, chief AI officer of Globe, said in a media release.
The GSMA, an international organization for mobile operators, developed this roadmap in collaboration with McKinsey. It outlines steps for companies to assess their AI practices and make improvements where necessary. The roadmap covers five areas: governance, AI operations, and collaboration with third-party ecosystems.
Bonifacio emphasized the importance of acting early to avoid issues related to privacy, security, and ethics in AI.
“We have a great opportunity to do it right much earlier, especially with something this disruptive,” he said during the GSMA’s Mobile 360 event in Seoul.
Globe has already started applying AI in areas like network optimization, customer service, and fraud prevention. The company is also focusing on online safety by blocking harmful AI-generated content.
“AI can simplify tasks, improve work-life balance, and ultimately enhance customer experiences,” Bonifacio said.
