Grab Philippines and its motorcycle taxi partner MOVE IT recently gathered thousands of driver-, rider-, and merchant-partners at the Saludo Partner Appreciation Concert, highlighting their shared commitment to building a safer, more inclusive gig economy for Filipinos.

Held at the Mall of Asia Arena, the event showcased how Grab and MOVE IT are working to create better opportunities for gig workers.

“Grab has always viewed gig work as a vital pathway toward decent livelihood and a more inclusive and equitable participation in the economy,” said Ronald Roda, country head of Grab Philippines. “We’re proud to help raise the bar toward a fairer, safer, inclusive, and future-ready gig work that provides dignity and protection for all workers.”

Grab has introduced programs such as on-trip insurance, emergency medical coverage, and access to benefits through SSS and Pag-IBIG. It has also launched tools like the AI Merchant Assistant to help small businesses grow using accessible technology.

Evolving Filipino gig economy

“MOVE IT is here to professionalize the motorcycle taxi sector, and that starts with valuing our rider-partners as professionals, not just workers,” said Wayne Jacinto, GM of MOVEIT. “Together with Grab, we are proving that technology and care can go hand in hand.”

As the gig economy evolves, both Grab and MOVE IT reaffirmed their commitment to building a Filipino-first model focused on compassion, inclusion, and upward mobility.

“The Filipino gig economy experience deserves its own playbook — and we are proud to be writing it alongside our partners,” said Roda.
