Maxicare Life Insurance Corp. (MaxiLife) announced the appointment of Dr. Mervin Pobre, as the new CEO, effective from Aug. 1st, 2023. Dr. Pobre succeeds Jose Pastor Puno, the founding CEO of the company.
Under Puno’s leadership, MaxiLife achieved remarkable milestones, insuring 350,000 policyholders within the company’s first five months of commercial operations. MaxiLife was also honored with a prestigious Great Place to Work certification, all while forging robust strategic partnerships.
Dr. Pobre, the newly appointed president and CEO, is a respected figure in the insurance and banking sectors, with a distinguished career spanning both the Philippines and the United States. In his most recent role as chief of strategy at FWD Insurance, he orchestrated a transformation that turned the company into a profitable and sustainable organization.
Dr. Pobre is a dedicated educator who imparts his knowledge at prestigious institutions like the Asian Institute of Management, Ateneo De Manila University, and De La Salle University.
