LG Electronics (LG) is expanding its global Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Academy network as demand grows for skilled technicians who can install and maintain increasingly complex cooling and heating systems.
The expansion supports LG’s strategy to strengthen its HVAC business by improving installation quality, after-sales service, and technical expertise in local markets. The company now operates about 70 HVAC Academies in more than 40 countries across Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Africa.
“Strong installation and service capabilities are essential for delivering reliable HVAC solutions and long-term customer value,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “We will continue to expand our global network of HVAC Academies to strengthen local technical expertise, support workforce development, and build the service infrastructure needed for the continued growth of the LG HVAC business.”
This year, LG opened new academies and upgraded existing facilities across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa as part of its Global South strategy. The facilities provide hands-on training for HVAC installers, service engineers, distributors, and business partners.
In Asia, LG opened a new HVAC Academy in Taichung, Taiwan, in June. The site includes product demonstration areas, classrooms, and practical training spaces where customers and partners can learn how to install and service LG HVAC systems.
The company also reopened its relocated HVAC Academy in Singapore. The upgraded facility showcases LG’s latest commercial cooling technologies, including Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) designed for data center cooling, reflecting growing demand for digital infrastructure in the region.
In Europe, LG added a new HVAC Academy in Poland while continuing operations in several other countries. The academies provide practical training on installing and maintaining LG heating and air conditioning systems, along with updates on industry trends and new technologies.
LG also expanded its presence in Latin America and Africa. In Chile, the company partnered with Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) to establish an HVAC Academy that trains future technicians while providing continuing education for certified professionals.
In Côte d’Ivoire, LG opened an academy in Abidjan featuring a showroom for commercial and residential HVAC products, technical classrooms, and dedicated spaces where trainees can practice working with Air Handling Unit (AHU) piping, control systems, and engineering tools.
LG regional hub academies develop training materials tailored to local markets while also training instructors from neighboring countries. This structure helps expand access to technical education, improve service consistency, and build a larger pool of qualified HVAC professionals.
