Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max is set to launch on Nov. 19 in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, bringing a wide variety of content from popular brands like HBO, the DC Universe, and Cartoon Network. The service will be available in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, as well as Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Subscribers can expect access to blockbuster movies, popular TV shows, real-life stories, and family content, all in one place. Max also offers an easy-to-use interface with personalized recommendations and the ability to create up to five profiles, including kid-friendly ones with parental controls.
“Max brings together quality content from iconic brands like HBO, Discovery, and the DC Universe,” said JB Perrette, CEO and president of Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery.
He added that the platform’s expansion to Asia is part of a larger global rollout, already reaching 72 markets.
Max will feature exclusive titles such as “House of the Dragon,” “Succession,” and upcoming series like “Dune: Prophecy” and “IT: Welcome to Derry.” Viewers can also enjoy popular Hollywood movies like “Dune: Part Two” and “Barbie,” as well as family-friendly classics from Cartoon Network.
Aside from the scripted content, Max will include popular real-life shows from Discovery’s channels, such as Deadliest Catch and Dr. Pimple Popper. The service is set to become a comprehensive entertainment hub for fans across the region.
