PLDT Enterprise, the corporate business arm of PLDT Inc. (PLDT), is expanding its satellite-enabled connectivity services nationwide, building on its 2025 rollout of Starlink services for businesses, government agencies, and remote communities.
The service is already being used by organizations such as the provincial government of Camarines Sur and SMS Global Technologies Inc. (SMSGT) to support operations that require stable internet access.
The company said Starlink connectivity helps power digital services for local communities and supports operations in sectors such as education, healthcare, and disaster response. The satellite service is also being used for operations in areas where traditional fiber or wireless connectivity is limited or unavailable.
Since becoming an Authorized Starlink Reseller, PLDT Enterprise has integrated Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology into its internet service offerings for enterprises. The company said the integration allows organizations in geographically isolated and disaster-prone areas to maintain connectivity for business and public services.
“Within a year of deployment, Starlink has reached customers across the public sector, agriculture, banking, and other key industries, underscoring the accelerating adoption of satellite connectivity as a practical, enterprise grade solution, particularly in underserved locations,” said Blums Pineda, SVP and head of the Enterprise Business Group, PLDT.
PLDT Enterprise said Starlink can be deployed as a primary internet connection in remote areas or as a backup connection for critical business operations. The company added that satellite connectivity is now part of its broader connectivity portfolio, which includes multiple network technologies.
“We have been delivering it as part of a fully managed, end-to-end connectivity ecosystem across the PLDT Enterprise Business Group, integrating fiber, wireless, managed SD-WAN, cybersecurity, data centers, and cloud solutions, allowing businesses to achieve resilience and scale through a single, trusted partner,” Pineda said.
Within the PLDT Group, the company said it is developing various satellite-based connectivity solutions designed to meet the needs of different industries. These include logistics, energy, banking, agriculture, education, healthcare, disaster response, and public service delivery.
PLDT said reliable connectivity remains essential for these sectors, particularly in areas that require constant network availability to support operations and services for communities.
