PLDT Inc. has officially appointed Menardo “Butch” Jimenez Jr. as the company’s new executive vice president and chief operating officer, with his role effective from Sept. 17, 2024. The decision was made during the recent meeting of the company’s Board of Directors.
Jimenez, who holds an AB in Economics from the University of the Philippines, has been a key figure within PLDT for many years. His diverse background in the company equips him with extensive experience across various aspects of the business. Before his new appointment, Jimenez served as senior vice president and network head, overseeing significant operations within the company.
His career at PLDT spans numerous roles. From 2022 to 2023, he took on the role of Consumer Business Home Advisor, where he provided strategic guidance for the company’s home services segment. Before that, he led as the Consumer Business Home head from 2019 to 2022, directing strategies for consumer engagement and business growth.

Jimenez’s tenure also includes serving as Deputy Business Transformation Office head from 2017 to 2019, where he contributed to steering the company’s digital transformation initiatives. His experience as Human Resource and Development head from 2009 to 2019 gave him insight into managing the workforce and organizational development. His earlier leadership roles include Retail Business head (2004-2009) and Media Communications and Public Affairs head (2001-2004), allowing him to oversee the company’s retail strategies and public relations efforts.
Jimenez’s extensive background across multiple domains within PLDT positions him well for his new responsibilities. As executive vice president and COO, he is expected to contribute to the company’s strategic growth and operational efficiency, leveraging his years of experience and in-depth understanding of the business.
