Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) is alerting the public to avoid clicking on text messages that include suspicious links, even if they appear to be from trusted sources. The company clarified that neither Smart nor its value brand TNT sends messages with clickable links.

“Scammers use tools to make it seem like messages are coming from real companies,” said Atty. Roy Ibay, VP and head of Regulatory Affairs at Smart. “Once you click the link, it can lead to fake websites that steal your personal or financial information.”
