Boracay, Aklan — At the 7th VSTECS CXO Tech Summit, business leaders and technology experts gathered to explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on modern enterprises, discussing both the benefits and challenges of AI as it continues reshaping business operations and transforming entire industries.
“AI’s transformative power is poised to revolutionize businesses, challenge traditional roles, impact our lives, and shape the future,” Jimmy Go, president and CEO of VSTECS Phils. Inc., a leading ICT distributor in the country, said in his opening remarks.
He emphasized that AI remains a pivotal, much-discussed technology highlighting that investments have surged over the years. He urged companies to explore AI as a critical tool to streamline operations, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experiences.
Citing World Economic Forum data, Go noted that 85 million jobs could be displaced by AI advancements, yet it is expected to generate 97 million new roles, including AI-focused positions such as ethicists, data privacy managers, urban planners, climate analysts, and cybersecurity specialists.

“The evolution of AI is not just reshaping current roles but creating entirely new opportunities that demand specialized skills,” he said.
As organizations increasingly integrate AI, cybersecurity and data privacy concerns have intensified. Representatives from Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, and Trend Micro addressed the risks associated with AI-enabled cyberthreats but also stressed AI’s potential to enhance cybersecurity defenses. They urged businesses to prioritize resilience by using AI to monitor, detect, and respond to threats in real time.
Go underscored the necessity for businesses to stay agile in a fast-changing technology landscape.
“AI allows companies to do things faster and smarter. It’s crucial to build security and resilience into this progress, ensuring that data remains protected as businesses advance their digital transformation efforts,” he said.
