YGG Pilipinas is set to tour six cities across the Philippines with the Metaverse Filipino Worker (MFW) Caravan, a four-month roadshow to introduce Filipinos to digital career opportunities. Running from April to August 2025, the event will provide training and resources on Web3, artificial intelligence (AI), and decentralized applications (DApps).
The MFW Caravan, part of a year-long initiative, seeks to help Filipinos develop new skills and explore online income opportunities without leaving their hometowns. Through hands-on workshops and expert-led talks, participants will learn how to build resumes, use AI for work, and navigate the digital economy. Job boards and career orientation will also be available at each stop.
Helping Filipinos build digital careers
“The MFW movement is proof that anyone can build a future in the global digital economy,” said Mench Dizon, country head of YGG Pilipinas. “We’ve seen students turn gaming into careers, small business owners expand through Web3, and parents find jobs that let them stay with their families.”
The caravan builds on the success of the MFW movement, which began in January 2025 with the release of a short film showcasing real-life stories of Filipinos working in Web3. The video, available at MFW.Life, gained over one million views in two weeks. Some of the individuals featured in the film will travel with the caravan to share their experiences.
Support for digital workforce development
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is supporting the initiative, recognizing the shift toward digital careers.
“The MFW Caravan reflects a crucial shift in how Filipinos approach work—one that prioritizes digital skills and economic empowerment without the need to go overseas,” said Emmy Lou Delfin, Director of the ICT Industry Development Bureau.
Industry reports suggest a growing demand for digital professionals. The World Economic Forum estimates there are over 70 million digital jobs worldwide, a number expected to approach 100 million by 2030. Meanwhile, the Web3 market is projected to grow significantly in the next five years.
Event schedule and activities
The MFW Caravan will begin on April 5 at Ayala Malls Abreeza in Davao, followed by stops in:
- Cagayan De Oro (May 4, Ayala Malls Centrio)
- Iloilo (June 7, Ayala Malls Atria Park District)
- Bicol (June 28, Ayala Malls Legazpi)
- Palawan (July 19)
- Manila (August 2, final stop)
In addition to workshops, each stop will feature Web3 game demos, tournaments, and interactive activities. The event is made possible by partners such as Ayala Malls, Coins.ph, Converge, and DICT.
Since 2022, YGG Pilipinas has traveled the country to educate communities on emerging technologies. The rebranded MFW Caravan aims to expand this mission, ensuring that more Filipinos can access tools and knowledge to succeed in the evolving digital world.
