Technology company Acer has introduced the Acer Googlebook 14, a convertible laptop designed for users who move between their Android phones and computers with less effort. It is the company’s first device in a new category of premium laptops built for Googlebook OS and Gemini Intelligence.
The phone connection is one of its most useful features. “Continue On” lets users pick up a task they started on an Android phone, while “Cast My Apps” enables them to access phone apps on the laptop without installing them again. Gemini can also offer suggestions based on what is on the screen.
For consumers, the appeal is a simpler way to handle everyday tasks across two devices. For Acer and Google, the launch opens a new premium laptop category built around AI features and closer ties to Android.

The Googlebook 14 has a 14-inch OLED touchscreen and a 360-degree hinge, allowing it to work as a conventional laptop or fold into tablet, tent, and stand modes. Users can also interact with it through a keyboard, touch, voice, or a compatible stylus. The stylus is listed separately in Acer’s specifications.
At 1.14 kilograms and 13.9 millimeters thick, the device is built for travel. Acer says its fast-charging battery can last up to 16 hours, though actual use will vary.
The laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 355, 32 GB of memory, and 512 GB of storage. Those options matter most to buyers who keep many apps open or work with large files. Other practical features include a backlit keyboard, a 5-megapixel webcam with a physical privacy shutter, a fingerprint reader, and USB-C ports on both sides.
