Remote learning, like remote working, is no longer just an option but a necessity with a pandemic that has permanently altered people’s way of life. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (Alcatel-Lucent) designed Rainbow Classroom, an e-learning solution that addresses the issues that cropped up during the first year of the shift to virtual classrooms.
While there are many video conference apps, both web- and mobile-based, that aided the education sector during the sudden shift, many of these are not suited to become virtual classrooms. Education has a different set of needs compared to business conferences.
Alcatel-Lucent’s Rainbow Classroom transforms a school’s Learning Management Systems (LMS) into a virtual classroom through seamless integration with real-time collaboration and communication tools. All student data are automatically synchronized and there are no additional accounts.

“Home learning requires flexibility among learning establishments,” said Moussa Zaghdoud, EVP, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Cloud Communication Business Division, “and we created Rainbow Classroom to meet that exact need. Rainbow Classroom can be tailored by a school or university to optimize the remote learning experience while ensuring data security and ease of use for teachers and students alike.”

Rainbow Classroom also enables the curation of all classroom activity through its ability to retain all documents, conversations, and posts until the term is complete. It seamlessly integrates with the existing LMS to enable a familiar virtual learning environment and toolset. Rainbow Classroom is also fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and approved by The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).
Hosted on Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s infrastructure, the company assures of the robust level of security applied to all Rainbow products, where communications are encrypted in transit and at rest.
“A digital learning environment is an ideal incubator of educational development for students and teachers alike to enable this,” said Pierre Samson, SVP, Asia Pacific, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. “Rainbow Classroom will provide students in Asia-Pacific the ability to maintain their learning progression while enhancing the student experience.”
