Consumer electronics company TCL has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Regional Training Center-NCR to help address the shortage of skilled technical workers in the Philippines. The collaboration includes the launch of a dedicated training hub that offers a direct pathway from enrollment to employment.
The partnership was formalized during a recent signing ceremony held at the newly built Tesda-TCL Center. The facility will serve as a training ground for aspiring technicians, providing both classroom instruction and hands-on experience with TCL air conditioning units and other appliances.
“TCL’s aspiration is to foster greatness among these students and to be a source of inspiration for all. We envision this partnership enduring for many years to come,” said Bert Cheung, deputy director of Air Conditioner and B2B Business, TCL Philippines.
At the heart of the partnership is the Tesda-TCL Center, a specialized facility equipped with modern TCL appliances. The center has two main areas: a hands-on training room where students can practice installing and servicing TCL air conditioning units, and a lecture room outfitted with TCL televisions and air conditioners.

TCL’s training program will be led by its own air conditioning service experts. The company aims to provide students with practical skills that can improve their chances of getting hired and performing well on the job.
Beyond training, TCL is donating various appliances to other Tesda facilities. These include televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioning units, which are expected to enhance the learning environment and help students stay familiar with current technologies.

“TCL’s generous donation of equipment and training will be invaluable in providing our trainees with the essential hands-on experience they need for their future careers,” said Eugene Agcaoili, administrator of the Regional Training Center-NCR Center, Tesda. “We’re also very excited about the potential for Training-to-Employment (T2E) opportunities, which will benefit a significant number of our trainees. We truly hope this partnership will continue for many years to come.”
TCL said the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to national workforce development by equipping Filipinos with relevant technical skills for long-term employment.
