Unilab, Inc., a pharmaceutical and healthcare company in the Philippines, is working with SAP to upgrade its core systems through RISE with SAP on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to modernize operations and support long-term growth ahead of its 80th anniversary in 2025.
Unilab is transitioning from its SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) system, which has supported its operations since 2005, to SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The shift is expected to improve efficiency and standardization across its business processes.
“It is our vision to be the champions of healthcare and life sciences in this part of the world… and this moment presents a golden opportunity to further streamline and enhance our processes and policies,” said Sebastian Frederick Baquiran, president and CEO, Unilab Inc.
By using SAP Business Suite features, including SAP Business AI and SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), Unilab aims to improve decision-making and strengthen its ability to respond to the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. The digital transformation also involves automating parts of its supply chain and manufacturing operations, and using data analytics for better insights.
“By modernizing its core systems with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and leveraging standardized framework and proven transformation methodology offered in RISE with SAP, Unilab is building a future-ready enterprise, one that is more agile, operationally efficient, and competitive in the evolving pharmaceutical landscape,” said Jill Santos, managing director, SAP Philippines.
The partnership is designed to give Unilab more flexibility in scaling its operations and adjusting to market shifts while preparing for its next phase of growth.
