Xiaomi Philippines has joined this year’s Brigada Eskwela at a school in Malabon, continuing its partnership with humanitarian organization World Vision. The effort aims to help prepare school facilities ahead of the academic year and support better classroom learning through smart technology.

Brigada Eskwela is an annual initiative led by the Department of Education that brings together volunteers, teachers, and private partners to clean, repair, and prepare public schools across the country.

Xiaomi has been part of the campaign since 2024. For this year’s participation, the company equipped a classroom with various artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) devices, creating what it calls a “Xiaomi-Powered Room.”

“At Xiaomi, we are committed to making our technology accessible to everyone, and we are honored to play a part in making better learning environments,” said Tomi Adrias, head of marketing at Xiaomi Philippines. “Efforts like this are a step toward helping Filipino students dream bigger, reach further, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.”

The newly upgraded classroom now features several smart devices from Xiaomi. These include smart TVs, smart fans, air purifiers, smart cameras, a Wi-Fi mesh system, a smart projector, and a smart vacuum cleaner. The company hopes these tools can help improve the overall learning experience by supporting a more comfortable and connected environment.

The donation of AIoT devices is seen as one way to introduce students to technology that could become part of their everyday lives.

As part of the school preparations, volunteers helped clean and repaint classrooms and other parts of the school, showing the spirit of community that defines Brigada Eskwela. Xiaomi also provided bags filled with essential school items for students.

“I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Xiaomi for bridging the gap, as we have great challenges in education,” said Alma Acub, World Vision program manager. “We cannot do it alone, which is why this type of partnership will really help our students improve their learning experiences.”
