Technology company Huawei captured the largest share of the global wearable market in the second quarter of 2025, according to the latest report from research firm International Data Corp. (IDC).

Huawei accounted for 20.2% of worldwide shipments, making it second quarter in a row that it ranked first in the market. IDC noted that Huawei’s performance shows the continued demand for its smartwatches and fitness devices.

Huawei’s current lineup includes the Huawei FIT 4 Series, designed for daily use, and the Huawei Watch 5 Series, which offers dual battery modes. The Huawei GT 5 Series introduces the TruSense system, a feature focused on health monitoring. The Huawei Watch D2 is the first smartwatch available in the Philippines to support ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, a function certified by China’s National Medical Products Administration and recognized under European Union regulations.

Industry observers say health-related features are driving interest in wearables, especially as users look for tools to monitor activity, sleep, and vital signs. IDC’s report highlighted that brands offering advanced health functions are gaining stronger positions in the market.

Huawei is also preparing for its upcoming “Ride the Wind” product launch in Paris on Sept. 19. The event is expected to showcase new wearable devices aimed at supporting health-focused lifestyles.
